Tasharia Harris, Staff Chaplain

Tasharia Harris was raised in Montgomery, AL. As a graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She then attended Wake Forest University (Winston Salem, NC), where she earned a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Pastoral Care.

During her tenure as a chaplain she has served in three Level I hospitals; ultimately completing her residency at Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA. Tasharia has been trained in emergency care, hospice, oncology, and behavioral health and substance detox.

She is ordained in the Nondenominational Church, and is endorsed for chaplaincy through Fountain of Hope Praise & Worship Ministries in Montgomery, AL. She is also in the process of being Board Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Tasharia has a heart for people in the midst of suffering. She has committed her life to walking alongside people as they find meaning in crisis. She is excited to serve this medical center and the Birmingham community at large.
