Matt Andrews, Staff Chaplain

Initially a Chaplain Resident (Sept 2015 – Sept 2016) and then a PRN Chaplain (Sept 2016 – Feb 2017), Rev. Dr. Matthew Andrews now serves as a part-time Staff Chaplain in UAB’s Emergency Department. He also serves as the Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions at “Grace, A United Methodist Congregation” in Vestavia Hills, AL.

Matt has now entered his tenth year of pastoral service, having served multiple congregational, academic, and clinical settings in Alabama, California, and Texas. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University (2012) and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University (2018).

He is married to his best friend and love of his life, Emily, who serves on the music and worship faculty at Samford University. Matt and Emily reside in Homewood with their son, Elliot.
