Demetria Cheeves, Staff Chaplain

Demetria is from the Atlanta, Georgia area. She is an ordained Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME). She has served in the (AME) Church in various capacities for 15 years as an associate minister and with women and outreach ministries.

During her tenure of chaplaincy she has served as a health care chaplain in a level one and level two trauma hospital. She has also served as a chaplain in a women’s prison. Demetria also has a background in social services and behavioral health.

Demetria holds a BS in Human Relations from Point University and a M.Div. from The Interdenominational Theological Center. She is in process of being Board Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Demetria has a love for people. She is a committed, humble and passionate about serving and empowering marginalized communities.

She is a mother and enjoys horseback riding, tennis and exercising.
