The Wholeness Project

UAB’s Institute for¬†Arts in Medicine¬†and UAB Pastoral Care are¬†partners in caring for patients, families, and our employees at UAB Medicine. ¬†We are¬†doing many new things together because we¬†believe in WHOLENESS¬†that includes body, mind, and spirit.

More than half of America’s hospitals now have some form of arts program, as evidence has shown the positive impact they can have on patients, their families, and even clinical staff.

UAB Medicine is home to the first and only hospital-based program in Alabama. The UAB Institute for Arts in Medicine (AIM) is a new initiative that supports healing by providing engaging arts opportunities, from creative bedside interaction to exhibits and performances in common spaces.
