We have multiple spaces for quiet prayer and meditation throughout our Hospital for our guests and employees.

FOR PRAYER OR MEDITATION (all open 24/7 unless noted)

  • The Interfaith Chapel is in the West Pavilion, first floor near Patient Discharge area
  • The Sanctuary (Meditation) Room is in the North Pavilion, second floor off hallway, approx. 50 ft from elevators
  • The Chapel in the Women and Infants Center, second floor, approx.  25 ft across from elevators

  • Women’s Bible Study

    Bible Study (Women’s)– 2nd and 4th Tuesdays 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.Sanctuary” or Meditation Room in North Pavilion on 2nd Floor Hallway,  All are welcome including employees, family members, or community members.  Coordinated by Libby Wright, erwright@uabmc.edu

  • Bible Study/Worship (Any Employees), Wednesdays — 12 Noon, led by UAB Employees, Interfaith Chapel, West Pavilion, First Floor near Patient Discharge. More info at chaplains@uab.edu.
  • Catholic Mass, Wednesdays — 11:00 a.m., Interfaith Chapel, West Pavilion, First Floor near Patient Discharge, led by Father George Maniangattu, mmaniangattu@uabmc.edu.
  • Catholic Mass, Saturdays — 4:00 p.m., Interfaith Chapel, West Pavilion, First Floor near Patient Discharge, led by Father George Maniangattu, mmaniangattu@uabmc.edu.

  • Meditation – Take Ten, Wednesdays — 12:50-1:00 p.m., open to all.  Sanctuary Room, 2nd Floor Hallway, North Pavilion fifty feet from elevators.  Led by Elizabeth Vander Kamp, esvk63@uab.edu.
  • Muslim Prayers, Fridays — 1:15 p.m. Interfaith Chapel, West Pavilion, First Floor near Patient Discharge, led by UAB Employees
  • Zentangles, Fridays — 12:30-1:00 p.m. The Kirklin Clinic Meditation Room, Second Floor near Guest Services.  Led by Elizabeth Vander Kamp, esvk63@uab.edu.  The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being.
