2013 Summer Interns, L to R: Logan Taylor, Chandler Whitman, Katie Bradshaw, Jennifer Southall

Chaplain Interns serve for one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education either in the Fall extended unit (16 weeks), the Spring extended unit (16 weeks), or the Summer intensive unit (11 weeks).  Our normal schedule is to accept 3-4 Interns for each unit.

The total number of education and clinical hours are a minimum of 400 hours regardless of how many weeks the unit is spread.  For instance in the Fall and Spring, Interns meet for education days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and serve one 12 hour shift as an On Call Chaplain on the weekends, plus six hours during the week on an assigned unit.

Summer intensive unit Chaplain Interns work approximately four weekdays (including education and clinical work) and serve on one 12 hour shift as an On Call Chaplain on the weekends.
