EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

1. Pastoral Care Webinars— Open to employees, clergy, or anyone from the community as we learn together about meeting the spiritual needs of persons. A “Webinar” is a Web-based seminar, presentation, lecture, or workshop that is transmitted live over the Web. We view this together and then share in a brief discussion following.

2. Psychosocial Spiritual Grand Rounds –The Pastoral Care Department is a co-sponsor of Psychosocial Spiritual Grand Rounds and is offered on the second Tuesday every other month (January, March, May, July, September, and November), for UAB Hospital employees and anyone from the community. More information…

3. The Support Team Network. A Support Team is a group of volunteers who provide practical, emotional, and spiritual support for persons living with any health care issue whether in a hospital or at home. Training is provided by our department to teach congregations, organizations, friends, and families how to develop Support Teams for persons with any health care issue. Our train-the-trainer approach prepares persons to return to their congregation or community and start Support Teams for whomever they wish with any health care need.
